The winner: To keep your eyes on the road while searching for the opening in the top of a travel mug, attach a small raised object to the mug where your thumb usually rests. On mine, I put a small piece of flexible magnet with a sticky back. Line up the lid opening with the magnet. When you reach for the mug, put your thumb on the magnet; the opening in the lid will be lined up perfectly. Pat Simpson, Monroe
Old shower curtain becomes new tarp
When I change out my fabric shower curtain, I keep the old ones to use when I trim bushes or gather leaves. The fabric shower curtain is lightweight, water repellent and slick. Leaves will not stick to the fabric and slide right off for easy cleanup.

Shoe organizer works for mittens, too
When the weather grows cold, our busy family has little time to search through a bin for hats, scarves, and (matching) gloves. So I hung this shoe organizer inside the foyer coat closet and keep each item in a separate pocket. Little guys can reach the bottom pockets and bigger ones use the top –easy to grab and go!
