The start at Daytona will end a 467-race streak where the No. 3 car made famous by the late Dale Earnhardt has not appeared in a series race. The number has been used by Richard Childress Racing in Truck and Nationwide race series but not in the Cup series. The announcement was made at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
