Roundup nets 8 drug suspects in Caldwell County

Caldwell County authorities say they arrested eight people last week in a three-day roundup related to alleged drug activity.

They are looking for two additional suspects in the case, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said its agents confiscated more than $23,000 worth of heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine, cash and drug paraphernalia during a series of raids.

Those arrested were identified by the sheriff’s office as:

• Amanda Nicole Childers, 34, Taylorsville – one count each of possession of methamphetamine, and possession with intent to sell or deliver Hydrocodone.

• Kimberly Dawn Smithey, 44, Lenoir – one count each of possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine, and delivering methamphetamine.

• Christopher Edward Springer, 36, Lenoir – one count of possession with intent to sell or deliver Oxycodone.

• Carrick Lee Stafford, 73, Lenoir – three counts of trafficking in opium.

• Jason Leon Tolbert, 34, Lenoir – one count each of possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine, and delivering methamphetamine.

• Dustin Wayne Triplett, 25, Lenoir – one count each of trafficking in opium, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to keep or store a controlled substance.

• Bradley Eugene Watson, 36, Hudson – two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver Oxycodone, sale of Oxycodone, and delivery of Oxycodone.

• Tony Christopher Williams, 44, Lenoir – six counts of trafficking in cocaine, one felony count each of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, sale of cocaine, and delivering cocaine.

In addition, the sheriff’s office said it is looking for these men:

• Harry James Odum, 52, Lenoir – one count each of intent to sell or deliver heroin, sale of heroin, and delivering heroin.

• William Christopher Richardson, 43, Lenoir – one count each of intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine, and delivering methamphetamine.
