Emergency crews work to clear the wreckage Monday morning of a two-vehicle wreck at Hawthorne Lane and East 7th Street. (Special to The Observer.)

One person needed hospital treatment Monday morning after a two-vehicle wreck in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood.

The collision was reported shortly before 9 a.m. at Hawthorne Lane and East 7th Street.

Witnesses said a black sedan headed northbound on Hawthorne Lane collided in the intersection with a gray sedan headed southbound.

A woman driving the black sedan was taken to Carolinas Medical Center by Medic with leg injuries. A 4-year-old riding in that vehicle was not seriously injured, nor was a woman driving the gray sedan.

Police are still investigating the collision.
