Rocking $25,000 winners

Hough High, Quail Hollow Middle and Beverly Woods Elementary schools each won $25,000 technology grants as winners of the second annual Rocking the Belk Bowl.

The contest asked Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools to create and display educational designs on school rocks or bulletin boards using a Belk theme, including the Hough entry shown. The winning three schools also received some tickets to the Belk Bowl football game at Bank of America Stadium on Dec. 28.

Runner-up schools, each winning $15,000 technology grants: Piedmont Middle; and Cornelius, Elon Park, Hornets Nest and River Gate elementaries.
