The winner: I got tired of replacing contact paper under the sink. So I bought a box of laminated flooring and installed it on the bottom of the cabinet. It comes in pieces, so it’s easy to get in around pipes, small spaces, etc. Just snap it in place, make it a perfect fit and it can just lie there. It will take the abuse. One box can do several areas.

Labels help with flour power

Especially when the holidays roll around, I am into many baking projects and have several types of flour to work with. So when I dump a 5-pound bag into a canister, I cut off the label and tape it to the canister so I can quickly tell my bread flour from my all-purpose and self-rising. Kathryn Johnson, Fort Mill

Convert cotton balls to snow

Instead of using artificial snow to decorate your Christmas Villages, use cotton balls as snow. Works great, is inexpensive and for me it brings back good memories as a child of creating dioramas with my mom.
