Wreck, rush hour add to congestion on I-77

By Cleve R. Wootson Jr.

Rush hour congestion combined with a wreck near Mooresville had Interstate 77 northbound backed up Monday.

The wreck happened near exit 36 – N.C. 150, near Mooresville.

At least one person was injured, although authorities haven’t said how badly. All lanes were open Monday evening.

Adding to the congestion was typical rush hour traffic coming out of uptown Charlotte. Authorities expect traffic to be flowing freely by about 6:30 p.m.
