Firefighters battled a blaze that broke out Wednesday evening at a home in Stanley.

The East Lincoln Fire Department requested backup from the Huntersville fire department and others in the area about 6:55 p.m., said Huntersville firefighter Gary Ewart.

The fire on Ivey Meadow Lane in Lincoln County required more than 50 firefighters to knock down the fire, said Ewart.

The family was home when they fire started, WBTV reported.
