A three-alarm fire early Friday heavily damaged a chiropractic clinic on Central Avenue, authorities said.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, which hit the Keith Clinic Estramonte Chiropractic, in the 5300 block of Central Avenue. That is across from the old Eastland Mall site.
Charlotte fire Capt. Rob Brisley said a fire alarm sounded shortly after 1 a.m. at the clinic, and first responders found smoke coming from the one-story building. A second alarm was sounded at 1:40 a.m. and a third alarm about 20 minutes later.
Brisley said 50 firefighters were needed to control the fire. The American Red Cross provided relief services for firefighters at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Brisley said early indications are that it was accidental. The practice’s doctors are seeing patients at their other clinic location, authorities say.
