Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have identified the man charged after a standoff at an uptown building Friday.
De’Angelo Quinil Bradley, 17, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and fleeing from officers, police said Saturday.
The episode began at about 1 a.m. Friday when officers responded to the 2100 block of Diamond Creek Circle, where a woman said her vehicle had been stolen at gunpoint.
Officers quickly spotted the vehicle, but its driver would not stop. After a brief chase ended, the vehicle hit the old Polk Building at the corner of West Trade and North Graham streets. The driver ran inside.
Police blocked off the area around the building for several hours before making an arrest at about 6:30 a.m.
Bradley was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, felony fleeing to elude police, resisting an officer and misdemeanor breaking and entering.
