A Charlotte man was charged with possession of marijuana after police found the drugs in a Christmas stocking during a traffic stop Saturday night, according to a Rock Hill police report.

Police pulled over the car off Riverview Road because a headlight was out, the report states.

The driver, Mark Britt, 22, told the officer the light was out because he hit a deer. While talking to Britt, the officer noticed a shotgun in the backseat that belonged to the passenger in the car.

The officer then asked Britt if there was anything illegal in the car and Britt said there was marijuana in a Christmas stocking in the front seat. In the stocking, they found a jar with several grams of marijuana.

Britt was arrested and the drugs were confiscated.
