Fire damages home on Lander Street

Twenty-seven firefighters were needed to control a house fire early Wednesday in the 200 block of Lander Street, off Rozzelles Ferry Road. No injuries were reported.

Flames and heavy smoke were seen coming from the home at 12:05 a.m., Charlotte fire Capt. Mark Basnight said. Firefighters controlled the fire in 11 minutes, he said.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage wasn’t immediately known.
