Q. How did you get the idea for One Hott Mamma Maternity Consignment?

A. One night, during my first trimester, I started getting ready to go on a date with my fiance, Dalton. As I sat there staring at my closet, I began to feel overwhelmed at the amount of clothing I had racked up that either did not fit anymore, or that just looked outright bad on me while I was pregnant.

The only thing that actually fit me and didn’t look completely unflattering was a plain black t-shirt. I started to wonder, “Am I really going to have to wear this junk for the next 7-8 months?! Has it really come down to this!?”

But, I threw on the black t-shirt and went about my date, not really being able to shake the horrible lack of self confidence I was developing. Over the next few days, I began doing some searching for maternity clothing that was stylish, functional, and comfortable.

Guess what I found? Probably the same thing that you did- PLAIN SHIRTS & BAGGY T’s! It was at that point that I took it upon myself to create the ultimate maternity wardrobe. I found ways to use pieces from my existing closet and pair them with a few essential items that I purchased.

A few months later, I turned my personal experience into my passion and way of life by helping other pregnant ladies in the area. This experience of mine is what birthed ‘One Hott Mamma Maternity Services.’

Months later, the Lord presented me with an amazing opportunity to open a consignment store, making helping & uplifting others easier than ever!

Q. Where are you located?

A. We are located at 8514 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210 in the Quail Corner Shopping Center- between Harris Teeter and Rusty's Deli.

OHM is located INSIDE of Divine Consign, a non-maternity woman's consignment offering clothing, accessories, home decor and more. I like to say that we are "two great stores at one convenient location!"

Many of my ladies love reconsigning there maternity clothes at OHM and using the money made to shop post-partum at Divine Consign. It really is revolutionary!

Q. What all does your store offer?

A. We are ever expanding offering everything from maternity clothing to nursing & post-partum accessories- baby slings, tummy tighteners, breast pumps, diaper bags, and more!

My favorite thing is our range of price points, conveniently sectioned off for shopping ease. In one section we have designer clothing from brands like a pea in the pod, Olian, Lavish by Heidi Klum and more. These brands retail for $50-200+ and are priced at OHM for $18-84.

We also have every day brands including Old Navy, Liz Lange, Motherhood Maternity and more for $14 & under everyday! Everything we accept is within 4 years of style and gently-loved. No holes, stains, frays, etc so why pay full price?!

Q. Do you also offer nursing wear?

A. We currently offer maternity tops that transition to nursing tops as well as new, never worn nursing bras. We also offer breast pumps less than half of the cost that they retail for. Just purchase new tubes, sterilize and you are good to go!

Q. What other services do you personally offer?

A. "From unleashing your style and building self-confidence to preparing for your baby, One Hott Mamma is here for all of your maternity needs- because ‘Pregnant Never Looked So Good!'" is our saying.

Most popular is our complimentary Personal Shopping for ANY budget. This includes in store on Saturdays or by appointment M-F. I also love getting requests from woman who either can't get into the store or live outside of the area to "shop and ship." Simply email or Facebook message me what you are looking for (from a whole wardrobe to a special event outfit- think Baby Shower) with your size and budget if any and I send pictures of what I would recommend. Q. What is your favorite part about helping a mama find her desired look?

A. I love helping everyday Mothers find a new sense of self-confidence & not feel down about there appearance or weight gain while pregnant. It's also nice helping to break the mold of those lovely "mom jeans." Keeping or rediscovering your pre-pregnancy style is key for staying happy in my opinion.

Q. What are some of your favorite maternity lines?

A. I love Motherhood Maternity- it is stylish and affordable. I also love a pea in the pod for a sophisticated, modern, and classy look!

Q. What was your favorite pregnancy outfit?

A. Anything but sweats that included chunky jewelry. I loved getting dressier than needed, piling on the jewelry, and curling my hair for an instant pick-me-up- even if I was just running errands.

Q. Any advice for mama-to-be's for fashion?

A. Wear what makes you feel sexy and confident. I think many woman feel that because you are going to be a mom you throw "sexy" out the window. Where does that leave you though? Feeling less confident than usual. As long as you do "sexy" appropriately by accentuating what your favorite asset is and keeping the neckline from plunging too low, your in the clear.

Just please, try something other than sweats and your man's tee. You'll be happy you made the effort.
