Grand jury hearing Boone motel case is postponed

By Elizabeth Leland
Staff Writer

Because of the wintry weather, a grand jury will not meet in Boone Monday to hear evidence about the carbon monoxide poisonings last year at the Best Western hotel.

The district attorney's office also canceled a news conference.

Three people died, and another person was seriously injured, in the hotel's Room 225. The grand jury was expected to consider evidence about possible criminal charges.

A new date for the hearing has not been announced.
