Happy New Year everyone! I know it's been almost a week already, but I'm still feeling the sparkliness of a new year. Hubby and I had a wonderful holiday season together. For once, we both had the important days off and got to spend Christmas and New Year's Day with Alice. Combined with the celebrations with my family, the whole two weeks were perfect.

Now I'm looking forward to wherever 2014 takes us. While I'm not someone who makes resolutions, I can't deny the fresh start that comes with every new year. So I am setting myself some goals. I know I'll break these every once in a while. In fact, we're not even a week into the new year and I've struggled with some. I recognize that change is a process though, and while I will make mistakes, I'm comfortable with that if it helps me reach my goals.

My most important goal is to stay positive. I always used to be the positive type, but our setbacks have definitely knocked me into negativity more than once. I've been working on this one for a while, but I'm going to keep working on it going forward. Even when we do take one step forward and three back, I'm going to remind myself that the next step will take us further.

Speaking of going further, I'm looking forward to more travel! Since our wedding we've been to England, Australia, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. Discovering how much fun we have traveling has caused a bug that I can't shake. Once I've learned how to take better pictures, one of my little goals, I can share a lot of our adventures here! We've setup a bucket list and I'm hoping for the chance to knock out at least one or two of those places. If nowhere else, our goal is to reach Washington D.C. this year. The attractions look amazing, and since a lot of them are free, they're budget friendly too!

We're also trying to keep ourselves financially stable. While we're not where we thought we'd be, we are in a great place right now, and have the opportunity to pay off our debts and save money. Talking ourselves out of buying treats is tough, and keeping myself from booking lots of trips is even harder, but it's so worth it in the long run. While we're on a tighter budget now, we'll be able to enjoy a lot more later on. Hopefully, we'll even be able to relocate to Florida within the next two years and I can begin the career path to Disney Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons!

I won't meet a lot of my goals in 2014, but it gives me something to work for and I'm really excited about that. I'm by no means trying to rush my life away, but I am looking forward to seeing the progress I've made next year. In the meantime, I'm taking every moment to enjoy the journey.
