Health insurance enrollment help available Saturday in Charlotte

Consumers who need help enrolling in health insurance under the Affordable Care Act can get face-to-face help Saturday, Jan. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Children & Family Services Center, 601 E. 5th St., Charlotte.

The event is sponsored by Get Covered America in partnership with Legal Services of the Southern Piedmont, North Carolina MedAssist and Care Ring. More than 20 navigators and assistants will be available to help people apply for coverage through the federal health insurance marketplace.

To schedule an appointment, call 1-855-733-3711. Walk-ins will also be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. For those who are not eligible for financial assistance in the marketplace, representatives from local health clinics and the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services will be available.
