2 injured in shooting at Tuckaseegee Park

By Cleve R. Wootson Jr.
Staff Writer

Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening Sunday after a shooting outside a West Charlotte recreation center.

Police had not released the names of the victims Sunday night and did not have a name or description of a suspect.

Police issued a news release that said several people, including the two victims, were involved in an altercation outside the recreation center at Tuckaseegee Park when one person fired shots, striking the two victims and an unoccupied vehicle parked nearby. The suspect then fled in a vehicle.

The shooting took place about 4:20 p.m. The release said detectives were canvassing the area to see if they could find any other witnesses.
