Police are waiting for the Mecklenburg Medical Examiner to determine how a person died in east Charlotte early Sunday.

A police spokeswoman said only that the department is conducting a death investigation on Woodside Avenue.

WSOC-TV reported that neighbors heard screams coming from the home just before 9 a.m. Neighbors told the TV station that a man and a woman lived there.

Police have not released the circumstances of the death.
