Coble named to CPCC board

Retired Charlotte Pipe and Foundry executive Marshall Coble has been appointed by Gov. Pat McCrory to the CPCC Board of Trustees.

Coble, who attended CPCC, retired as senior vice president of the cast iron division at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, where he worked for 44 years. His term as CPCC trustee runs through June 2017.

Coble is a Cornelius native who graduated from Oakboro High School and then UNC Charlotte’s College of Engineering. He is an elder at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius.

“Marshall’s numerous years of manufacturing experience and company leadership will be a great asset to the board, as CPCC works to enhance its advanced manufacturing training programs,” said Ralph Pitts, CPCC’s board chairman.

CPCC President Tony Zeiss said of Coble, “He knows the college and Mecklenburg County well and brings to the board the deep connections and affection of an alumnus.”
