Numerous traffic problems continue to be reported at 9:45 a.m. in the Charlotte area, but the worst troubles continue to be on inbound East Independence Boulevard.
Several wrecks earlier this morning continue to cause slowdowns. Traffic should be moving better after 10 a.m.
There are several wrecks on other Charlotte-area roads, however.
And a portion of Tuckaseegee Road is closed.
Police report a wreck shortly after 5 a.m. in the 2900 block of Tuckaseegee, which is near Parkway Avenue. One person was taken to the hospital, and the wreck left downed power lines.
Motorists can use Freedom Drive as an alternate route, as Tuckaseegee might be closed for the rest of the morning commute.

I-77 southbound, Lake Norman area ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-30 mph from Brawley School Road (Exit 35) down to Gilead Road (Exit 23).
I-85 southbound, Cabarrus County ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-30 mph from George Liles Parkway (Exit 54) down to Mallard Creek Church Road (Exit 46).
I-85 northbound, Cabarrus and Rowan counties ... Collision between Exit 63 (Lane Street, Kannapolis) and Exit 68 (N.C. 152, Rowan County). Moderate delays.
Independence Boulevard inbound ... Earlier wrecks and congestion; traffic moving 20-30 mph from Harris Boulevard to uptown. Motorists should use alternate routes.
I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Providence Road to I-77.
I-85 northbound, Gaston County ... Heavy congestion from Gastonia to the Mecklenburg County line.
I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Carowinds Boulevard up to Clanton Road.
Tuckaseegee Road near Parkway Avenue ... Collision with injuries; Tuckaseegee Road closed in that area.
Sharon Amity Road at Pierson Drive ... Collision; minor delays.
Catawba Avenue at Sam Furr Road, Huntersville ... Collision with injuries; moderate delays.
Beatties Ford Road at Rozzelles Ferry Road ... Collision; moderate delays.
North Tryon Street near Ikea Boulevard ... Collision; moderate delays.
South Boulevard at Cleveland Avenue ... Collision; minor delays.
