No injuries in northwest Charlotte house fire

Observer Staff Reports

No injuries were reported in a house fire Tuesday morning in northwest Charlotte, officials say.

The fire was reported about 10:25 a.m. at a home in the 1600 block of Catherine Simmons Avenue. That is off Beatties Ford Road and north of LaSalle Street.

Charlotte fire Capt. Mark Basnight said crews found heavy smoke coming from the home when they arrived. He said it took a crew of 27 firefighters only six minutes to subdue the blaze.

Investigators are working to determine a cause.
