Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say the man who was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday evening was a 34-year-old from Charlotte.

Patrick Lemont Williams died after being hit by a car about 9:50 p.m. on the Billy Graham Parkway near Scott Futrell Drive, a short distance south of I-85.

Police say Williams was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center but died shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say Williams was not in a crosswalk and was impaired at the time of the incident. The driver of the Toyota Camry that struck him has not been charged.
