Kings Mtn. women robbed by man in car’s back seat

Police in Kings Mountain are looking for a man who robbed two sisters inside their car before daybreak Thursday morning.

The robbery was reported about 5:30 a.m. at the Elizabeth Estates Apartments on South Cherokee Street, police say.

The women apparently had turned on their car to heat it up before leaving. When they came out to the car and got in, they discovered a man was in the back seat.

The man demanded money from the women, then ran off. Police say the women assumed the man had a weapon. Neither woman was injured.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, about 5 feet 7. He was wearing dark clothing and a hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact police at 704-734-0444.
