If you are pining for the new Charlotte Hornets gear, your wait is over.

The Bobcats are switching over to the Hornets nickname and logos next season. Saturday afternoon and evening they will start selling hats, T-shirts, hoodies and other merchandise – about 50 items in total – at the team store at Time Warner Cable Arena.

For the first three days, the team store will be the exclusive retailer before merchandise is distributed to other outlets.

The team store will be open only to season-ticket holders from 3-6 p.m. After 6 p.m. the general public can also shop for Hornets items. The normal 7 p.m. tip-off for Bobcats home games was moved back to 7:30 p.m. for the Miami Heat game because of a Charlotte Checkers game at the arena Saturday afternoon. Rick Bonnell
