A fire along Interstate 77 in Huntersville tied up traffic on the highway for nearly an hour on Monday as firefighters tried to extinguish it.

No one was injured in the fire, which was reported around 3:30 p.m. on Monday between exits 23 and 25 on the northbound side of the highway. The highway was fully reopen by 4:30 p.m.

Pictures from the scene showed one lane of the highway blocked by fire trucks and Huntersville firemen spraying water on a grassy area.

Investigators didn’t have an official cause of the fire, but police officers were on the scene talking to two people, according to the fire department.
