At least two people have been displaced after a Monday morning fire started at their home in northwest Charlotte, fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to the fire in the 1100 block of Vine Cliff Lane at 11:18 a.m. At the time, heavy smoke and flames were showing and the street was closed for emergency operations, Fire Capt. Mark Basnight said.

It took 27 firefighters 18 minutes to battle the blaze, he said.

No one was injured during the fire, Basnight said. It was unclear how much the total damages were and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
