It took firefighters 32 minutes to control a fire that destroyed a home in northern Charlotte on Monday evening.

The fire was reported just after 8:30 p.m. at a home on Johnston-Oehler Road, near Mallard Creek Park.

When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy fire and smoke, and had to close a section of Johnston-Oehler Road as they worked to put out the fire.

No one was injured, but the home was a total loss.
