Former Carolina Panthers fullback Brad Hoover is the new head football coach at Marvin Ridge High.

Hoover will replace Daniel Bailey, who coached the Mavericks for one season, leading them to a 2-9 record.

Hoover coached at Union Academy last season, leading that team to a 6-6 record, which tied the team with the best record in school history.

Hoover will be the school’s fourth football coach since opening in 2007.

Hoover played college ball at Western Carolina, where his 3,616 career rushing yards were the second-most in school history. He played for the Panthers from 2000-09.
