Nan and Byron’s

A Saturday and Sunday brunch buffet is being served at South End’s Nan and Byron’s. Buffet offers a choice of mimosa, bloody mary or coffee, breakfast casserole, vanilla French toast, smoked salmon, biscuits and gravy, meatloaf with sriracha ketchup and more.

Brunch runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Chef Brian Mottola of uptown’s e2 has created a special menu for Valentine’s Day.

Appetizers for the evening include a crudo trio with marinated blue crab claws, house-cured salmon with dill cream and tuna with olive caper tapenade, Wiano oysters on the half shell and a lobster caprese salad. Entrees selections are a scallop, mussel and halibut paella for two, lamb ragu and a filet mignon with cabernet reduction in 7- or 14-ounce sizes. Pastry chef Stephanie Nikolic’s dark-chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, raspberry-port ice cream and meringue will also be on the menu. Ballantyne’s Gallery celebrates Valentine’s Day with a prix fixe menu available Feb. 13-17.

The menu includes celery root cream soup, a choice of a white truffle wedge salad or spiced seared tuna loin for an appetizer, choice of beef tenderloin or lobster and cream sherry pappardelle for an entrée and a dessert. Dessert selections also are available a la carte for $10: molten chocolate cake or a chocolate lover’s platter with truffles, chocolate covered strawberries, ganache filled macarons and chocolate petit four cakes. Menu is $85 per person; call for reservations.

A Princess Tea is happening each day at Gallery from 1-5 p.m. Feb. 13-17. Perfect for dads and daughters or friends and family, the tea will celebrate Valentine’s Day with princess decorations and a kid-friendly menu. Confections, loose-leaf teas and hot chocolate will be served. Gallery’s pastry team will create keepsake princess-themed sugar cookies; participants are encouraged to wear their favorite royal dresses, tiaras and jewelry. Cost is $32 for adults and $16 for kids; call for reservations.

Morton’s

Uptown’s Morton’s will run a special Valentine’s Day menu featuring a cold-water lobster tail with drawn butter paired with a steak for $55. Call for reservations; menu is offered Feb. 13-16.

Morton’s also is currently featuring a steak and seafood menu for $59.99 per guest for a limited time. Menu includes a choice of Caesar, Morton’s or chopped spinach salad, a single-cut filet mignon and a seafood choice: broiled sea scallops, jumbo shrimp Alexander or a jumbo lump crab cake. A signature side item and a choice of Morton’s Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake, key lime pie or crème brulee for dessert are included.

Pizza Peel

Plaza Midwood will soon have a new Pizza Peel in the former Kelly Tires location on Central Avenue. The pizza restaurant is scheduled for a January opening.
