Police think this surveillance photo captured an image of the man responsible for a gas station robbery Monday night in Albemarle.

Police in Albemarle are looking for a man who they say robbed a gas station at gunpoint earlier this week.

The robbery was reported shortly before 10 p.m. Monday at the Olympia Gas Station, in the 700 block of South Second Street.

According to police, a man entered the store, pulled a gun from his coat, and demanded money from the register. The man then ran off with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported.

Police have released a surveillance photo of a man who they think was involved in the crime. Anyone with information about the suspect or the robbery is asked to call Albemarle police at 704-984-9500.
