2 men attempt robbery during Super Bowl at Pizza Hut

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for two men who they say attempted to rob a Pizza Hut at gunpoint in Charlotte’s Midtown area.

The attempted heist took place during the Super Bowl, one of pizza restaurants’ busiest times of the year.

Investigators say two men, one of them armed, entered the Pizza Hut on South Kings Drive shortly after 8 p.m. The men demanded money but apparently became frightened and ran off.

No injuries were reported.

Police got only a sketchy description of the suspects, who were wearing masks.
