at Checkers (22-22-1)
Time Warner Cable Arena, 7:30 p.m.
After a rough four-game road trip that saw the Checkers go 1-3-0, Time Warner Cable Arena and the Oklahoma City Barons should be a welcomed sight. The Checkers defeated the Barons 9-3 on Jan. 24 while scoring a team-record five power-play goals. Charlotte has beaten its West Division rival six times this season. ... There were 12 fighting majors called the last time the teams went head-to-head, with goaltenders John Muse and Chet Pickard nearly adding to that total. ... Since that win, Charlotte has failed to score on 17 power plays. ... Zach Boychuk scored his team-leading 22nd goal in Wednesday’s 4-3 loss. He’s one goal shy of trying his AHL career high set in 2012-13. ... The Checkers will wear special pink jerseys during their eight annual Pink in the Rink game. The jerseys will be auctioned off live after the game to benefit several charities that help raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. Seth Lakso
