Firefighters on the scene of a fire on Mumford Lane in Charlotte

No injuries were reported Monday morning when fire damaged a home in north Charlotte, authorities say.

The fire was reported about 10:30 a.m. at a residence in the 1400 block of Mumford Lane. That is in a neighborhood off Reagan Drive.

Fire officials say residents of the home escaped safely. The blaze did about $10,000 damage, and a preliminary inspection indicated it might have started in a bedroom.

The American Red Cross said it is providing help for the residents, three adults and two children.
