Despite the cold and gloomy weather, hundreds of competitors showed up for the Huntersville Half Marathon, which helps raise money for the Novant Healthcare Foundation, which supports patients’ families who are in financial need. Fitness instructor Bear Robinson started the event in 2011, and it has steadily grown over the years, helping raise more than $10,000 for needy families.
