The Charlotte 49ers football team will play an 11-game schedule in 2014, including six opponents that were ranked or received votes in the final Football Championship Subdivision national polls last season, school officials announced Feb. 4.The 49ers, who finished 5-6 in their inaugural season in 2013, will open the 2014 season Aug. 28 with a road game against Campbell. Charlotte then has its first home game at Jerry Richardson Stadium against Johnson C. Smith on Sept. 6.The 49ers will play six games at Richardson Stadium in 2014. In addition to Johnson C. Smith, they will host Charleston Southern on Sept. 27, James Madison on Oct. 25, Coastal Carolina on Nov.8, Wesley College on Nov. 15 and Morehead State on Nov. 22.Charlotte also has road games scheduled against N.C. Central on Sept. 13, Elon on Sept. 20, Gardner-Webb on Oct. 4 and The Citadel on Oct. 11. Charlotte 49ers Athletics
