Call it Judges Day.

Seven incumbent Mecklenburg district court judges filed for re-election Tuesday.

And District Judge Lisa Bell filed for the Superior Court seat being vacated by Judge Richard Boner, who is retiring.

The 8th Congressional District was guaranteed one contest: incumbent Republican Rep. Richard Hudson filed again. And Democrat Antonio Blue also filed. In 2012 he finished a distant third as a write-in candidate. Jim Morrill
