• The Charlotte Bobcats werent exactly sure where they might land Wednesday night, but they were determined to get out of New York City before a winter storm blew in. This was the last game before the All-Star break, so players were scattering to various locales, probably most of them Caribbean. It was unclear whether they could land in Charlotte, but the team plane was looking to fly someplace south to give the players a chance to make connections.
• Point guard Kemba Walker elected to play against the Nets after leaving Tuesdays victory over the Dallas Mavericks in the fourth quarter. Walker felt some tightness in his left Achilles tendon, which coach Steve Clifford said appeared to be a byproduct of a recent ankle sprain.
• I asked Clifford if he was going anywhere for All-Star break. He gave me a weary shrug, so I said, Nowhere? and he nodded. Have a feeling Clifford will be sleeping in all weekend.
• There are 11 subway lines with a stop outside the Barclays Center. I love it when good public transportation gets you to and from a ballgame.
