No injuries in South End apartment fire

Charlotte firefighters had to contend with snow-covered streets and freezing rain early Friday in battling a South End apartment fire.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, which broke out around 1 a.m. at an apartment building in the 300 block of East Park Avenue. That is between Euclid Avenue and South Boulevard.

Firefighters found flames coming from one unit when they arrived. Authorities said it took a crew of 26 firefighters a little more than 10 minutes to put out the blaze.

There was no report on the amount of damage or cause of the blaze.
