The Queen City looked beautiful in a blanket of white snow this week. As I stared out of my window at the huge snowflakes, I was inspired to write about winter weddings. There is something so dreamy about wedding portraits in the snow and Im always interested to see what brides wear in the cold. Pulling off a winter bridal look is all about the accessories. Here are some of my favorite picks.A cute pair of gloves
Any winter wedding look needs a cute pair of gloves. You can go with a pretty knit pair or lux it up with leather. This accessory will be fun for outside pictures and also keep you warm. Im obsessed with a white leather pair from BHLDN. There is even a little metallic bow on the ring finger. While your gloves are on people will still know youre taken!A textured cover-up
A winterized bridal look is not complete without some kind of textured shrug, caplet or wrap. Fur is a common choice and a timeless classic. My love for animals makes it hard for me to endorse fur but I do love a good faux fur. There are tons of beautiful faux fur options that are both affordable and give the same feel. Lately, Im also really into brides wearing pretty short coats or even delicate cardigans. I adore this feather shrug from BHLDN. Its so poufy and I love the unexpected texture. I envision this with a 20s inspired embellished gown.Icy statement jewelry
When I think of winter weddings, I automatically think of metallics and diamonds. Therefore, jewelry fit for an ice queen is a must-have. A simple dress can be transformed with a statement necklace like the one above from Kate Spade. With a necklace this stunning you wont even need other jewelry. If your dress is lace or embellished then go for a big, vintage inspired earring.Weatherproof shoes
If your winter wedding involves trekking through snow, then you need a cute pair of weatherproof shoes. My favorite option is this pair of silver Hunter boots. They will make for fun wedding pictures in the snow and stand up to the elements. Inside the ceremony or reception you can then change to a different pair to dance the night away.BHLDN Platinum Promise Gloves
