Burke man sentenced for rape, larceny

A Burke County man has been sentenced to at least 12 years in prison after being convicted of first-degree rape of a child and in connection with a series of motor vehicle break-ins and larcenies.

Judge C. Thomas Edwards sentenced Paul Anthony Lunsford, 25, of Valdese, to between 12 years and 15 years and 2 months in prison.

Lunsford also was ordered to pay $14,708.69 restitution to victims. He must register with the N.C. Sex Offender Registry for 30 years. Steve Lyttle
