Caldwell residents get all-clear for water use

Caldwell County residents have the all-clear to use their water once again.

County officials said late Friday morning that all tests show the water is safe to use. Test samples had been collected Wednesday and Thursday from around the county.

County residents were advised Wednesday to boil water before using it for cooking, cleaning and hand-washing, after a construction crew ruptured a water line Tuesday. The line was repaired early Wednesday, but the water advisory was issued until county officials were able to complete tests.

Residents in Lenoir received the all-clear early Thursday, but many in the county were told to wait until the results of Thursday’s testing. Observer Staff Reports
