A film festival on the links between air and water pollution will be held Tuesday night at Central Piedmont Community College.

Festival sponsors are Clean Air Carolina, the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation and CPCC’s Center for Sustainability. It’s at Tate Hall on the central campus, 1201 Elizabeth Ave. Refreshments will start at 6:30 p.m. and the films at 7 p.m. The event is free but RSVPs are encouraged: diana@catawbariverkeeper.org or 704-679-9494.

Parts of two films, “Carbon Nation” on climate change and “Living Downstream” on environmental toxins, will be followed by the short film “A Message from Marcellus” on fracking. A panel including Clean Air Carolina director June Blotnick, Riverkeeper Sam Perkins, CPCC’s RoseMary Seymour and Observer reporter Bruce Henderson will discuss the films. Observer staff reports
