Police find bullet holes in CMS mobile classroom

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are working to determine who might have been responsible for firing shots into a mobile classroom unit during the weekend in northeast Charlotte.

A teacher arriving at Briarwood Elementary School on Monday morning discovered several bullet holes in the classroom unit. Students were moved to another location at the school Monday.

Briarwood Elementary is on Wilann Drive, off The Plaza. The rear of the school property abuts a community park.

Police say there were reports of gunfire in the neighborhood Saturday night, and authorities assume the bullets struck the classroom then.
