Charlotte Alzheimer’s conference offers caregiver support

Dr. P. Murali Doraiswamy, a psychiatry professor at Duke University’s Institute for Brain Sciences, will speak Thursday at a dementia education conference at UNC Charlotte.

Bobby Lutz, former men’s basketball coach at UNCC and now associate head coach at N.C. State, will share his family’s story.

Sponsored by the Western Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, the conference runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Union Center. Cost: $15 for caregivers, $45 for professionals. Register: 800-272-3900 or www.alz.org/northcarolina. Karen Garloch
