Matchup to Watch

Al Jefferson vs. Timofey Mozgov: Signing free agent Jefferson was a game-changing decision for the Bobcats, who also researched Mozgov before he re-signed with the Nuggets

Observations

• Injuries pretty much wrecked the Nuggets’ season. They have lost three key pieces in Danilo Gallinari, JaVale McGee and Nate Robinson.

• The Nuggets have former N.C. State star J.J. Hickson as sixth man to get Mozgov into the starting lineup. Hickson has played well in both roles, totaling 22 double-doubles this season.

Tap-ins

• The Nuggets have the third-highest scoring bench in the NBA at 38.7 points per game.

• Bobcats shooting guard Gerald Henderson has missed the past three games with a calf strain. The team planned to reevaluate Henderson’s condition Monday.

Did you know?

Nuggets point guard (and former Tar Heels star) Ty Lawson is one of only four NBA point guards averaging at least 18 points and eight assits. The others: Stephen Curry, John Wall and Chris Paul.
