Woman shot, seriously hurt in NW Charlotte


A woman was shot and seriously injured early Monday morning in northwest Charlotte, police said.

The shooting was reported about 3:45 a.m. at a residence in the 1700 block of McDonald Street. That is off Beatties Ford Road.

Police say a woman ran out of her house and staggered across the street before collapsing. Medic took the victim to Carolinas Medical Center with injuries described as life-threatening.

There is no word on any arrests. Steve Lyttle
