Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a 67-year-old man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in northwest Charlotte.
Heinz Heinrich Lumpe died when his 2003 Chevrolet Malibu collided with a 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Bart Allen Bradburn. Bradburn was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.
The crash took place shortly before 6 a.m. on Moores Chapel Road at Rhyne Road. That is a short distance west of Interstate 485.
Investigators said Lumpe was making a left turn from Rhyne onto Moores Chapel when his car was hit by Bradburn’s truck, which was outbound on Moores Chapel.
Lumpe died at the scene, police said. Investigators said alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash, and police said no charges have been filed.
Police ask that any witnesses call detectives at 704-432-2169.
