CLOVER The town of Clover will host its 17th annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 15 along Main Street.
The event will include the Leprechaun Leap 5K run, fun run/walk, walkathon and strong man bench press competition, all hosted by the YMCA.
Other event include the annual pooch show, live blues band, a variety of vendors and an array of amusement rides and activities for children of all ages.
Artists sought for Ag + Art tour
YORK COUNTY In partnership with the Arts Council of York County, the Ag + Art Tour is accepting applications for artists interested in participating in the 2014 Ag + Art Tour in York County.
The tour of local farms and farm stands in Chester, Fairfield, Lancaster and York counties, will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 21 and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 22.
The tour began in 2012 in York County as a free, weekend-long, self-guided tour that brought visitors to farms and farm stands to see where their food comes from and to engage with artists working and performing on site.
In 2013, Lancaster County was added and this year the tour will add Chester and Fairfield counties. It is free, weekend-long, self-guided tour where everything is handmade and homegrown in the four counties.
Artists who are interested in participating in the York County tour must be residents of York County. Traditional artists including potters, quilters, jewelers, painters and more; storytellers and musicians may apply.
There is no fee to participate. Download the letter and application at www.catawbaagandarttour.com/york. York County’s artists and artisans may submit their applications to Dorie Lancaster, email@example.com. Artisans who submit applications after Tuesday, March 18 may participate, but their information will not be included on printed materials.
Richardson Rescue seeks help with snow damage
YORK Richardson Rescue, a York nonprofit pet adoption group, needs help fixing the fenced pet living areas damaged in the Feb. 13 snowstorm.
The group needs to buy new tarps and to repair or replace lost or bent fence panels and metal frames that support the tarps, which were damaged in the storm.
Checks can be mailed to Richardson Rescue, 1968 Garvin Road, York, SC 29745. Donations also can be made from the website, richardsonrescue.org.
The pets have not been injured, according to the organization, and they have heaters in dog houses.
