Matchup to Watch

Kevin Love vs. Josh McRoberts: Two of the more versatile power forwards in the NBA, each plays all over the court. McRoberts has to keep Love from having a monster night on the boards.

Observations

• The Timberwolves might have delivered as embarrassing a loss as the Bobcats have suffered this season. They won by 27 in Minneapolis in a Jan. 10 game that was decided almost from tipoff.

• Minnesota center Nik Pekovic has the bulk and strength to match up physically with Bobcats star Al Jefferson. But will he fall for all of Big Al’s fakes and counters?

Tap-ins

• The Bobcats were off Thursday before a busy stretch of three games in four nights.

• Small forward Corey Brewer has 61 dunks this season, more than twice as many as any other Timberwolf.

Did you know?

There have been seven NBA games this season in which one player reached 30 points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Love has four of those.
