Jay M. Robinson wins choir event

Jay M. Robinson Middle took top honors in the Charlotte Regional of the William Peace University N.C. Show Choir Competition, at A.L. Brown High on March 7.

The Robinson ensemble performed songs from the musical “Newsies.” They qualified for the state final and earned an Excellent Rating, as did second-place Hickory Ridge Middle in Harrisburg.

A.L. Brown High earned an Excellent rating. The show choir committee will determine whether the school will advance because it was the only high school to perform at the Charlotte Regional. Three schools planning to attend were unable to due to wintry weather conditions.
